Denmark: The World Champion of Organic Food
Denmark continues to lead globally in organic food consumption, maintaining the highest organic market share worldwide. The red Ø-label, Denmark’s official organic certification, is a trusted symbol for consumers. According to the latest report from the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL), organic products accounted for 11.8% of Denmark's total food market, surpassing all other countries.
This achievement underscores Denmark's long-standing dedication to organic agriculture, supported by robust policies, consumer trust, and a dynamic organic sector. Denmark serves as an inspiration for global efforts to promote organic farming and sustainable food systems.
Because of the high consumer demands more than 11 % of Danish farmland is organic cultivated — one of the highest rates in the world. Danish organic products are known for their high quality, animal welfare, absence of pesticides, and environmental sustainability.
