Here you’ll find an overview of all side events taking place during Organic Summit 2025 – both within the official programme and around the summit.
As part of the broader experience surrounding Organic Summit 2025, several cultural and thematic events will take place in and around the summit venue. These offer unique opportunities to explore and reflect on the future of food systems.
Organic experiences around Copenhagen
In connection with Organic Summit 2025, the city of Copenhagen will come alive with a variety of activities celebrating organic food and sustainable food culture. This includes events spanning from agricultural food producers hosted by the Danish Agriculture & Food Council to the city’s major food festival, Copenhagen Cooking.
As part of Copenhagen Cooking, one of the city’s leading food festivals, the Festival Square in Kødbyen is the main hub of activity. This year, organic food is a central theme, where a number of events will showcase organic ingredients and practices — ranging from communal dinners and street food markets to debates and workshops. Admission to the Festival Square is free, and activities run throughout the festival.
On Sunday, August 17, 2025, from 1 to 5 p.m., Danish Agriculture & Food Council invites anyone curious about organic food and culinary culture to take part in a vibrant event at Axelborg in the heart of Copenhagen. Here, you will have the opportunity to meet 27 passionate Danish organic producers, sample their high-quality products, and take home a taste of organic excellence during a festive afternoon filled with music, talks and the spirit of organic foods - all as part of the lead-up to Organic Summit 2025.
Organic Debate Panel: We take stock of the state of organic - how far have we come?
Organic is a hot topic in the climate debate, in the shopping basket, and on the menu – but how far has the movement really come? What is slowing progress, and where are new developments emerging? In this topical debate, experts will explore the current state of organic food – from field to Michelin – highlighting both ambitions and barriers. The discussion will examine what organic means in practice, whether in the supermarket aisle, a busy restaurant kitchen, or out on an organic farm.
At the Organic Market Day you can explore stalls with organic products, where you can see, taste, and smell the very best from Danish producers. Have a chat with the passionate people behind the products – they’re ready to share stories about their craft, ideas, and ingredients.
You will, for example, have the opportunity to meet Kombucha Time, Naturmælk, Contempehrary and many others.
Join an inspiring dinner where you can experience how participation and good food create engagement and joy in the school day. In the kitchen, Emil and his team lead the way with a mission to get students to taste different legumes and vegetables - and discover how good they can taste. The school's kitchen is dedicated to creating healthy and varied meals that strengthen both the students' everyday lives and their food courage. They also have The Organic Cuisine Label (Gold) with 90-100% organic and are thus part of our organic program.
Bridging the Gap between Aspiration and Action
Bridging the Gap between Aspiration and Action and Why the Future of Organic is Young is the title of this workshop organized by @Organic Youth (DK), @Junges Bioland (DE) and livinglabs on food security within the @ECOREADY project PROBIO Livinglab (CZ) and LivOrganic (DK).
It aims to center young voices and showcase young motivation, belonging and visions while inviting the participants to imagine and co-create future narratives for organic systems. Perhaps a coalition of organic youth and policy makers will emerge? In the workshop we will discuss questions like "What support structures are in place to help aspiring agri-users to access land, tools, and knowledge?" And "How do we cultivate an organic agriculture that empowers young farmers and foodworkers to pursue it as the place to be? "
